COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course provides an understanding of the following topics:

  • Understanding the ideology of Islamist militant groups/individuals
  • In traffic stops and casual conversation, how to distinguish moderate and peaceful Muslim citizens from radicals and militants who may be potential terrorists or terrorist sympathizers
  • How to identify ideological patterns and beliefs common to Islamist extremists.
  • How to distinguish legitimate Arabic names from nicknames, titles and name altering schemes. These name disguising techniques are part of identity fraud schemes used to create aliases and to conceal true identities and are designed to hinder law enforcement efforts.

TARGET AUDIENCE

Local, state and federal law enforcement officers/agents; Office of Motor Vehicles supervisors; Social Security Administration supervisors, private sector corporations with critical infrastructure.

MINIMUM CAPACITY:40 STUDENTS REQUIRED TO HOLD THE CLASS

MAXIMUM CAPACITY: 50 STUDENTS

COURSE MATERIAL

Each participant will receive:

  1. A copy of the book authored by the presenter – “A Law Enforcement Guide to Interviewing Techniques & Tactics for Arab/Muslim Nationals.” The book is intended for reference and supplementary information.
  2. Laminated reference sheet for Arabic Names
