Ernesto Santiago Fernandez, Ph.D. - Puerto Rico Training Initiative

Having served as an educator for more than 15 years, Ernesto Fernandez is currently the Senior Consultant for the School Safety Leadership Center of Puerto Rico. Formerly, the Dean of Cupeyville School in San Juan , Puerto Rico , Dr. Fernandez is also a faculty member and the Academic Coordinator of the Graduate School of Education at Universidad del Este and a member of the Puerto Rico chapter of the Association of Curriculum Development and Supervision. He also currently serves as the new Brigade Inspector General in the Puerto Rico National Guard.

Dr. Fernandez is an international trainer/consultant in the area of educational leadership development, educational administration, curriculum, mentorship, innovative school programs, evaluation and school violence prevention. Among the agencies and organizations he has provided services for are the Ana G. Mendez Foundation, the Private Schools Association of Puerto Rico, Sapientia Private School in the Dominican Republic, Interamerican University of Puerto Rico, the Department of Education of Puerto Rico, Luis Munoz Rivera Private School in Santo Domingo, the United Nations in Quito, Ecuador, and institutions in Washington, D. C. and Hawaii.

Dr. Fernandez was instrumental in establishing the first ever certification program for School Social Deviation Professionals soon to be available in four universities in Puerto Rico . Dr. Fernandez recently completed his doctoral work in the area of school safety in Puerto Rican public schools.
