Assistant Chief Bill LePere - Lakeland Police Department Bill LePere is a 29-year veteran of the Lakeland Police Department where he holds the rank of Assistant Chief of Police over the Neighborhood Services Bureau (Patrol and Special Operations). His experience in community policing includes expanding the department's award-winning Neighborhood Liaison officer program. He has taught numerous community policing in-service trainings at Lakeland Police Department and the Criminal Justice Academy at Polk Community College. Bill has been an instructor with the Florida Regional Community Policing Institute since its inception in 1997. He developed RCPI's manual "Changing Roles: Supervising Today's Community Policing Officer," and has been instrumental in the design and implementation of community forums for the RCPI and his police department. Bill has an Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice from Polk Community College and a Bachelor's Degree in Criminology from Saint Leo University and a Master's Degree in Administration of Justice from the University of Louisville. He is a graduate of the 109th Administrative Officer's Course at the Southern Police Institute. Senior Management Training
