Transformación Organización de la Policía Comunitaria Moderna para personal ejecutivo
El Florida Regional Community Policing Institute (FLRCPI) de St Petersburg College continua con los adiestramientos de Policía Comunitaria en Puerto Rico con fondos provistos por el Community Policing Oriented Services (COPS) del Departamento de Justicia Federal de Estados Unidos. El liderato y miembros de la Policía de Puerto Rico y el Colegio Universitario de Justicia Criminal de PR ( CUJC) participaron de un excelente adiestramiento sobre la Nueva Era de la Policía Comunitaria Moderna y Transformación Organizacional desde el 11 al 13 de noviembre de 2013 ofrecido por el Florida Regional Community Policing Institute (FLRCPI) de St Petersburg College, St. Petersburg FL. Esta capacitación profesional fue presentada por el Dr. Ernesto Fernández, Puerto Rico Training Initiative, Chief Art Acevedo, Departamento de Policía de Austin Texas, Instructor Robert Alfonso- oficial retirado de la Oficina del Sheriff del Condado de Pinellas, Florida y el Coordinador de Capacitación del FLRCPI, el Sr. Leocadio Cordero. El personal ejecutivo, los comandantes de las diferentes regiones policiacas, miembros de la Policía de Puerto Rico y personal del Colegio Universitario de Justicia Criminal de PR reconocieron la efectividad de esta serie de adiestramientos y la importancia de continuar en colaboración con la Policía de PR y el CUJC con aquellos adiestramientos que contribuyan al desarrollo profesional y excelencia de la Policía de PR. Próximamente se ofrecerán adiestramientos adicionales, incluyendo la Capacitación Profesional de Instructores para la Policía de PR especializados en áreas relacionadas a la Policía Comunitaria y Solución de Problemas entre otros temas de interés. Este proyecto es posible gracias al subsidio fiscal (Grant No. 2012-CK-WX-K020) presentado por el Community Policing Oriented Services (COPS) del Departamento de Justicia Federal de Estados Unidos. St. Petersburg College – Florida Regional Community Policing Institute (RCPI) continues Community Policing training in Puerto Rico with funding from Community Oriented Policing Services, U.S. Department of Justice. On November 11 – 13, 2013, St. Petersburg College’s Florida Regional Community Policing Institute (RCPI) provided training on the process of organizational transformation to members of the Puerto Rico Police Department (PRPD). The training, entitled Organizational Transformation in the New Era of Modern Community Policing, was presented by Dr. Ernesto Fernandez from the Puerto Rico Training Initiative, Chief Art Acevedo from the Austin Police Department in Texas, Instructor Robert Alfonso, from the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office (retired), and RCPI Training Coordinator Leo Cordero. Members of the PRPD Executive Staff and their Area Police Commanders attended the training, which was well received. All participants acknowledged the importance of continuing this type of training. Additional training sessions are scheduled for the PRPD. The next session, scheduled for March 2014 at PRPD Police Academy located in Gurabo, Puerto Rico, focuses on training the trainer.
